Alpha Omega Dinner, Montreal, Sunday 7 May 2017

In keeping with the Alpha-Omega tradition of searching for an understanding and appreciation of all things aviation related, while at the same time enjoying food, drink and friendship, the A/O Club Annual Dinner will be held on May 7th, 2017 at Bonaparte Restaurant – 447  Saint-Francois-Xavier Street, Montreal. (phone: 514 844-4368)

Most members will most likely be attending the Sunday IFALPA sponsored event on one of the Jacques-Cartier Pier which ends around 7:30 pm.  We will then walk to the restaurant (10 minutes) to start drinks around 8 pm with dinner at 8:30 pm. Be sure to bring your Alpha Omega ties to the IFALPA event as you won’t have time to return to the hotel to change.

If you are not attending the IFALPA event  the restaurant is a 15 minute walk or 9 minute cab drive from the Hotel Bonaventure.

Details for the A/O Dinner:

The meal will be a four course dinner of Montreal specialties with a choice of starter (soup or salad), choice of 3 entrees, choice of 3 mains, and dessert.  Drinks may be purchased separately from the waiter at your table to be paid individually at the end of the evening.  If anyone would like a vegetarian meal please let me know as soon as possible.

The cost (independent of the drinks) will be approximately 65 Canadian Dollars (CAD) per person.  Each Alpha Omega Member will also have an additional approximate charge 30 CAD to cover our guests.  Please bring cash in CAD.  More accurate numbers will be available as soon as we have a final head count. Dinner payment will be collected by me during or directly after our event.

Our guests this year include IFALPA acting President Capt. Ron Abel and his wife and the following awardees and their spouses or significant others:

Capt. Heinz Fruhwirth, already a member of the club, has been selected to receive the Clarence N. Sayen award but will be unable to attend the Conference this year.

Those registered for the conference are welcome to join the ALPA sponsored afternoon event which is scheduled to finish around 7:30 pm.

If you haven’t already, we would appreciate hearing from you if you intend to come so we can have an accurate count for our dinner.

For those going to the IFALPA Conference Awards Dinner the dress code is “National Dress, Black Tie, Business Suit.”

The Bonaventure hotel has provided discounted rates for attendees as indicated on the Conference announcement.  To register for the Conference and/or view the Conference announcement, go to IFALPA website:   http://www.ifalpa.org/    Click on the Conference link and follow the instructions.

IFALPA is hosting the conference this year so there will be no negotiated discount airfares.

IFALPA is using the Marriott for overflow if needed, but no information is available for rates at other hotels.
