Alpha Omega Lunch Cruise

Berlin, Sunday April 28, 2019

In keeping with the Alpha-Omega tradition of searching for an understanding and appreciation of all things aviation related, while at the same time enjoying food, drink and friendship, the A/O Club Annual Reunion will be a Luncheon Cruise held on April 28, 2019 on board the boat “Der Fliegende Hollander” (The Flying Dutchman).

This year we have decided to have our annual get together mid-day because of a special event Sunday evening hosted by VC (Vereinigung Cockpit) to which all Alpha Omega members and their guests are invited (even if you have not registered for the conference).

Details for the A/O Reunion Lunch Cruise.

VC has graciously agreed to pick up the cruise expense, our cost will only be for the food and drink.

The cruise on the river Spree will depart from the pier promptly at 11 am which is a 10 - 15 minute walk from the Conference Hotel, Maritim proArte Hotel Berlin.  We will meet in the hotel lobby at 10:15 am and start walking to the pier at 10:30 in order to board the boat at 10:45. The cruise will return between 1:30 and 2 pm which will allow time to go back to the hotel before the evening event.  It is anticipated that departures for this will begin between 4:30 pm and 5 pm with further details being provided later by VC and IFALPA.

This year’s lunch will include several courses including appetizers, hot food, and dessert.  Also included are 3 drinks (wine, beer or soft drink) for each person.  If there are any dietary restrictions, please let me know ahead of time.

The cost will be approximately 55 Euros for each person. Each Alpha Omega Member will also have an additional approximate charge of 25 Euros to cover our guests.  Please bring cash in Euros.  More accurate numbers will be available as soon as we have a final head count. Dinner payment will be collected before or during our event.

Our guests this year will include awardees and their spouses.  As of now we do not know this year’s awardees, but I will provide them as soon as they are available.  We will also invite IFALPA President Ron Abel and VC President and their wives, but it is not known at this time if they will be able to attend. Terry McVenes and Ana McAhron-Schulz who were voted in as members last year will also be attending with their spouses as our guests.

If you haven’t already, we would appreciate hearing from you if you intend to come so we can have an accurate count for our luncheon.

Many thanks to Christian Denke who has been the primary organizer and coordinator for this year’s lunch.  Through his efforts this promises to be a truly memorable event.

For those going to the IFALPA Conference Awards Dinner the dress code is “National Dress, Black Tie, Business Suit.”

To register for the Conference and/or view the Conference announcement, go to IFALPA website:   http://www.ifalpa.org/
